Local Pols Ready For Census
On Thursday, January 21 Council-members James Sanders Jr., Leroy Comrie and Thomas White Jr. hosted an informational session regarding the importance of the Census of 2010. The event took place at St. Albans Congregational Church located at 172-17 Linden Boulevard in Queens, New York at 7 p.m. A representative of the U.S. Census Bureau was in attendance to answer any and all questions regarding the Census.
“The Census is a vital asset to our community in securing federal funds. What people fail to realize is how we are all truly affected when someone does not fill out their census information” said Councilman James Sanders Jr.
“It is critically important for the entire Southeast Queens community to actively participate in the upcoming Census so that we can have an accurate count that reflects the need for resources in the future. I look forward to working with all the stakeholders in our districts to ensure that everyone will fill out the Census forms when they arrive in March,“ said Councilman Leroy Comrie.
