Art And Modeling At The Prep

Sophomore Danaell Lebrun models for the art students. Sophomore Danaell Lebrun models for the art students. The Drawing course at St. Edmund Prep High School, taught by Phil Fama, teaches different art techniques and methods. It also uses student volunteers to be models for the art students. Models start with a three minute warm-up pose, followed by quick preview pose during which the students decide composition. Art students choose their view depending upon the angle they prefer. Each model rests after 20 minutes and then returns to the exact pose for another 20 minutes.

St. Edmund Preparatory High School offers students the opportunity to choose a Sequential Art Program which takes place in the new Fine Arts wing. A Sequential Art Student (SAPPIE) is required to take at least seven semesters of art in order to graduate with formal recognition. The courses offered include Drawing, Design, Art History, College Art, Painting, Desktop Publishing, Wood Workshop, Intro to Architect and AP Art.
