RBB MVA Leaves Two Damaged Vehicles


Police say that Belle Harbor resident Shauna Friel, 25, was driving her 1999 Honda northbound on Beach 108 Street at about 4 p.m. on December 27, when she attempted to make a left turn on to Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Her vehicle was struck, police say, by a 2007 Hyundai driven by Rockaway Park woman Nicole Lee, 22, who was driving southbound on Beach 108 Street. No summonses were issued as a result of the accident, sources say. There have been a number of near misses at this intersection.... the center divider on the northwest corner of RBB and Beach 108th creates a traffic hazard. Perhaps the city should intervene, preferrably having a traffic safety engineer look into it.
