Goldie Maple’s First Winter Extravaganza
Goldie Maple Academy Parent Teach er Association held its First An nual Winter Extravaganza on December 18 in the school’s auditorium. The initiative was held with the aim of enhancing good working relations with the community, as well as the teachers and students. Students and parents from schools around the neighborhood participated in games, face painting and dance competitions. Winners re ceived prizes donated by the PTA which included gifts from Bath and Body Works and Dis - ney character prizes.
PTA President Claudia John indicated that the event is one of the many events held this school term to bring about awareness of the efforts the Association is making to generate parent membership not only within the school but also within the community as a whole.
So far this year the PTA has sponsored a successful Fall Festival held in October of this year and has extensively participated in the school’s November Thanksgiving Feast and Food Drive which benefited the homeless.
