      It’s been a busy two weeks and my blog has been humming with activity since so many school closings were announced by Tweed. With the holidays coming, I’ll keep this report shorter than usual and urge those who want more in depth coverage to read Howie Schwach’s reports and check out my blog. Goldie Maple’s First Winter Extravaganza
      Goldie Maple Academy Parent Teach er Association held its First An nual Winter Extravaganza on December 18 in the school’s auditorium. The initiative was held with the aim of enhancing good working relations with the community, as well as the teachers and students. Students and parents from schools around the neighborhood participated in games, face painting and dance competitions.

St. Edmunds Eagles On Tour
      St. Edmund Prep High School has recently been on tour to the elementary schools in Brooklyn. The tour started at St. Bernard Elementary School in Mill Basin and has continued to St. Rose of Lima in Rock - away, St. Patrick Elementary Sch - ool and Visitation Academy in Bay Ridge and St. Edmund Elementary in Sheepshead Bay.
