PHC Welcomes New Nursing AD
Robert V. Levine, President and Chief Executive Office of Peninsula Hospital Center joins Robin Blackwell, RN, Vice Presi dent Nursing, Chief Nurse Executive, in welcoming Phyllis Prawzinsky, RN as the Assistant Director Nursing - Emergency Depart ment.
Prawzinsky’s experience includes twenty years in the Emergency Department of Peninsula Hospital Center as the charge nurse on the night shift and sixteen years in Critical Care and Emergency Care at NYU. In addition, she is an adjunct clinical professor at Mt. St. Vincent College in adult, pediatric and psychiatric nursing .
Nursing Vice President, Robin Blackwell, RN, is very pleased with the new appointment. “I know that Phyllis shares the Hospital Center’s goal of consistently looking to elevate the level of care in our Emergency Department,” comments Blackwell. “Her dedication to the facility and the community over the years makes her a perfect candidate for this new role. Emergency Departments are now the front doors to hospitals and the quality and efficacy of care is imperative.” Prawzinsky has already implemented several new initiatives in the Emergency Department: Hypothermia protocol, an improved stroke program as well as Emergency Preparedness drills. Additionally, she will be focusing on implementing a heightened awareness of the important role the emergency room plays during these challenging times. “I look forward to making a difference for our Emergency Department patients,” says Prawzinsky.
