The robbery took place at the Ocean Bay Houses The robbery took place at the Ocean Bay Houses An unidentified Arverne woman returning home to her apartment at 444 Beach 54 Street, in the Ocean Bay public housing complex, was robbed of her money and a gold chain last week by two thugs who showed her a weapon and demanded her goods.

Police say that the woman entered the elevator at about 3 p.m., and was closely followed by two men who wore hoodies pulled close to their faces.

After taking the money and jewelry, the two fled using the stairs.

Police sources say that the robbery may be somehow tied to another robbery earlier in the day at the Beach 36 Street subway station, where two men matching the two who committed the elevator robbery took money from a subway rider.

Police detectives from the 101 Precinct are looking for the two, but at press time police sources says they have to suspects in either case.

Anybody with information on either robbery should call the 101 Precinct Squad at 718-868-3429.
