Gertrude Morgan, 68, a longtime Rock away resident, died December 11.
Morgan was born on September 15, 1941 in Middleburg, Florida and later moved to the Rockaways.
She was a social worker and a member of the Eastern Star and AKA Sorority.
Morgan is preceded in death by her father, Willie McKever; sons, Darrell and Roderick; sister, Inez Donaldson; brother, Kenneth Terry; and best friend, Gertrude Prince.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Terry; daughters, Dana Swint (Joseph) and Latoshia Smalls (Frankie); sons, Anthony Barber (Kim) and Cedric Hunt; grandchildren, Sharonja, Convonna, Marcos, Marvin, Ken dra, Denzel, Tyler, Charla and Malik; sister, Elaine Goldson (Erasmo); brothers, Henry Shareef (Veronica), Roosevelt Terry, Lorenzo Terry (Debroah), Roy Williams and Alonzo McKever (Carrie); two very special daughters in her church, Norma Harris and Sylvia White; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Funeral arrangements and memorial service were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York and Community Church of Astoria, Astoria, New York. Interment took place at Forest Park Cemetery, Morganville, New Jersey.
