Officers of the 101 Precinct, after obtaining a search warrant for the premises at 21-17 Nameoke Street in Far Rockaway, arrested two individuals after finding drugs, ammunition and a loaded weapon, The Wave has learned.

According to information from District Attorney Richard Brown's office, Yannick Spence and Lissette Spence were arrested on December 10 after police found 74 bags containing a quantity of cocaine in a basement bedroom and a plastic bag containing marijuana from another bedroom. Also recovered were a loaded .357 revolver with one round of ammunition, 50 loose rounds of 9 mm ammunition, 45 .40 caliber rounds of boxed ammunition, one loose round of .357 ammunition and one shotgun shell from the basement.

A police report also says that $2,146 and various drug paraphernalia were found.

In the official court report, Police Officer Christopher Paulson states that Yannick Spence, 26, "admitted that he resides in the basement bedroom and that the gun and drugs that were recovered are his." Lissette Spence told police she owns the home.

The defendants were each charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree - a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Yannick Spence is being held on $50,000 bail. Lissette Spence was released without bail. Their next court date is January 5.
