Belle Harbor Boys Win Hockey Tournament
On Sunday, November 29, local boys Chris Moore and Luke Erhard, who play for The Greater New York Stars, won the Squirt A Division hockey championship in Reston, Virginia. The Stars competed
against the talented youth hockey players from New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Behind the goaltending of Erhard and the offensive play of Chris Moore, who had 7 goals and 12 points in the 5 games played, the Stars went undefeated and captured the championship banner. The boys' next stop in tournament play will be at the end of the month and north of the border. The Stars will compete in Ottawa, in the International Bell Cup Tournament. The invitation was presented as a result of the Stars Squirt team winning the 2009 New York State championship. The Stars' current overall record for the year in the LIAHL is 8-0-1. Their overall league and tournament record is 26-2-3.
