Jerome "Jerry" Messeroff

Jerome "Jerry" Messeroff, 84, a longtime Rockaway resident, died Novem - ber 22.

Messeroff was born June 2, 1925, in Borough Park, Brooklyn, New York and lived in Belle Harbor for 15 years before retiring to Tamarac, Florida in 1983. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Destroyer Hickox. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Messeroff held several careers including, traveling salesman in the garment industry, owner of a specialty grocery store, and 30 years as the owner/operator of a taxi business. He was a member of Temple Beth-El in Rockaway Park.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Claire Messeroff; children, Anne Pylate, Jay and Janice Messeroff, Alec and Nancy Messeroff; grandchildren, Michael, Amy, Gayle, Fallon, and Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Gabrielle, and Eitan.

Funeral arrangements and memorial service remained private. Interment took place at David Memorial Gard - ens, North Lauderdale, Florida.
