Representatives From U.N.Visit Channel View School

In keeping with Channel View's philosophy of giving back to the community, Maria Barra, a representative from the United Nations, came to the Channel View School of Research on Tuesday, October 27, to speak to students about how they can get involved in the Millennium Development Project.

The goals of this project are to provide food and education for children around the world, as well as equal access to healthcare. Barra explained various ways students could get involved and make a difference. Under the leadership of Craig Dorsi, a Global History teacher, CVSR plans to hold a Peace Walk to raise money for Heifer International, a U.N. sponsored organization.
