A few weeks ago, the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance hosted an exhibition of photography by local youth in order to raise money for a skate share on Beach 87 Street. The funds raised that night covered the cost of the prints, exhibition books, boards and helmets for the 10 kids in the skateshare program. More ... Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, in office for close to 19 years, addresses community members at the 101 Precinct's Community Council meeting on November 18. Brown reported that homicides are down in Queens by 19 percent in 2009. "We also have the best arrest to arraignment time in the city," said Brown. "This means the cops are out on the streets more quickly [than other officers]."
