A total of 60 registered sex offenders currently reside on the Rockaway peninsula, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, which provides a public, online database of all criminals convicted of sex-related crimes. Daryl M. Babb, 44, a 35-year Rockaway resident, died November 16. Babb was born April 14, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York.
