Peninsula Preparatory Academy Kicks Off Pen Pal Fundraiser

Representatives from the U.S. Postal Service visited the school to pick up the first batch of letters and explain to students how the postal system works. Peninsula Preparatory Academy Charter School students kicked-off an international pen pal program and fundraising drive on November 5, designed to raise donations for impoverished students in Guinea, West Africa.

Peninsula Prep has partnered with six schools, one for each grade it serves, and its students will correspond with their peers in writing and via email throughout the year and work together to raise funds for students in Guinea.

The kindergarten class will partner with Grace Christian Academy, Queens, New York; first grade with Merrick Academy in New York; the second grade with Charter School of Educational Ex cellence in New York; the third grade with Hopkins Elementary Sch ool in Lilburn, Georgia; the fourth grade with Hillel Prepara tory Academy in Jamaica, West In dies; and the fifth grade is working with an agency en - titled School to School International which will part ner them with a school in Guinea, West Africa.
