Rockies Hope For Sunshine To Skate On Saturdays

Rockies skate in the rink at Beach 108 Street. Rockies skate in the rink at Beach 108 Street. The Rockaway Rockies will close shop on Saturday for Halloween, but on November 7, they will continue to skate on the hockey rink at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 108 Street.

Games are played every Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. with the younger skaters taking the early stint and the older (8-12) youth beginning at 10:30 a.m. Boys and girls from the ages of 5 to 12 will compete every Saturday morning until mid-November at the roller rink located on Shore Front Parkway.

If anybody is interested in joining the league, feel free to come to the rink before or during Saturday games to sign up.

The Rockies would like to remind those owners of dogs who use the rink when hockey is not played that they must not use the park. If owners do use the park to walk their dogs, they must clean up all of the droppings.

Anything that is left on the ground affects the playing surface for the kids. It can also be a hazard for the children because of the harmful bacteria that are on the ground.

The Rockies would like owners to use the dog park and not the rink.
