Blood Drive Success
I just wanted to thank you, the 100 Precinct Community Council, The Wave and most importantly all the members of the Rockaway community for coming out on October 12th, 2009 and supporting Transit District #23's blood drive. Our goal was to get twenty eight pints of blood for the drive. The overwhelming support re - sulted in receiving 35 pints of blood. The blood is often broken down into its components, red blood cells, plasma Letters and platelets that can help several patients. Each pint can help to save up to three lives. This means that this drive alone may save one hundred and five lives. I have been doing these drives for two years now and have thoroughly enjoyed serving the Rockaways. With your help the total life saving potential is overwhelming. In just four drives you have helped save up to five hundred and ten lives. I am proud to work for such a caring community and hope to continue to work for you in the years to come. Thank you again and I look forward to seeing everyone on April 6, 2010 for my next drive.
