More ... A Far Rockaway man was arrested this week when he allegedly beat his girlfriend with a violin following an argument over her mother, according to police. Gabriel Guerrero, 22, of 13-45 Eggert Place, allegedly attacked his girlfriend Sunday night with the violin and bow. More ... Several units of local firefighters were called to the Boardwalk at Beach 95 Street at about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning to fight a fire inside the lifeguard shack owned by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. It took the firefighters a few minutes to knock down the fire, which destroyed the trailer structure. Officials say that squatters may have been living in the structure, which is not used during the winter months and that one of those squatters may have inadvertently started the fire. More ...
