Victorious Rockaway Ravens Headed To The Playoffs

On Sunday, October 18, the Rockaway Ravens football team travelled to Gorton High School in Yonkers to battle with the Gladiators.

The Ravens aptly named these games the mud bowls because the teams played on a dirt field in freezing rain. It was a test of resilience for the Ravens. The Mitey Mites clinched a playoff berth with a 12-0 victory. The All-Americans clinched a first round bye by winning easily.

After a bye week, the Jr. Midgets bounced back from two losses and fought through wind, rain and mud for a necessary 32-12 win. The team will have to keep this momentum because another win is needed to make the playoffs. The Jr. Pee Wees lost in a valiant effort.

The Ravens invite everyone to come out on Sunday on our road to championship glory as all four teams take on the New York Warriors. The first game will begin at 10 a.m. and will take place at Far Rockaway High School.
