BCAC Midget Shamrocks Team Beat Farmingdale 12-0
It all came together for the BCAC Shamrocks as they won the first game of the season, 12-0.
The offense started off a little slow, but they soon got rolling with some fine blocks from Mike Henglein, Matt McCabe, Vincent Visconti, John Weiss, and Charlie Bostwick.
The tight ends of Conner Powers and Mike Reardon would also contribute some key blocks as Patrick Minihane would take one off the left end for a 17- yard touchdown.
The Shamrocks defense stymied the offense of Farmingdale all game as the defense of Danny Clark, Andrew Visconti, Brendon Trudden, Vinny Cavanagh, Steven Kenny, Cameron Manzi, Bryan Bostwick and Dave Cancel came up big on numerous plays. Big Charlie Bostwick would lead the defense with two sacks and two fumble recoveries as he put pressure on the offense all game.
The offense went to work again with great runs by Bryan Bostwick, Charlie Bostwick and Pat Minihane. But it was QB Timmy McCabe (5-rushes for 53 yards), who would break a 30 yard touchdown and put the Shamrocks up 12-0.
The defense would go back to work with great tackles by Timmy McCabe and Steven Kenny. Mike Reardon came up with a sack and the whole Shamrock team would come out with a win.
The young men played their best football game and the team came out with a great victory. Thanks to all that came out and supported the team. A special thanks to the cheerleaders for cheering at our game. The next game for the Shamrocks will take place at Copiague on Sunday.
