Thanks For Coming
Thank you Councilman James San - ders Jr., Angela Patterson, aide to the councilman, and Community Affairs Officer Campbell of the 101 Precinct for coming to Beach 24th Street on Saturday, October 10, 2009 to speak with the members of the Beachside Bungalow Preservation Association. The residents of the area, encompassing Beach 24, 25, 26, and 27 Streets, expressed concern regarding the numerous burglaries taking place in the neighborhood. Although there are youth and adolescent programs in the area, many of our youths are not taking advantage of the services that the organizations provide. As a result, many of the adolescents have been vandalizing and burglarizing the bungalows. In addition, Councilman San - ders addressed our concern regarding the limited amount of lifeguards present in the eastern end of the peninsula. The councilman stated that hiring additional lifeguards is a priority and he will continue to reach out to the Department of Parks to encourage more lifeguards for next year.
The members of the BBPA left this meeting with the feeling of being heard and understood by Councilman Sanders and by Officer Campbell. We appreciate the time that was taken to hear our problems and are faithful that the dialogue will continue.
