First Congregational Church of Rockaway Beach celebrated Worldwide Communion Sunday recently, with a special performance of "He Reigns Forever" by a new praise dance group spearheaded by church member Deborah Rowe.

Praise dance is enjoying popularity as a means of expression in Christian worship ceremonies around the U.S., of late. First Congregational's performance, choreographed by Deborah Rowe, was inspired by the music of the famous Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Kelly Sessoms-Newton was in charge of liturgical design, Roberto Rodriguez provided percussion instruments, and Kathy Woods served as coordinator and spiritual advisor for the group. Vicki Brooks made decorative banners matching the group's costumes for the event.
