SJEH Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Staff at St. John's Episcopal Hospital gathered for Wear Pink Day to raise awareness about breast cancer, which was held on Tuesday, October 13 in the lobby. St. John's Episcopal Hospital obser ved National Breast Cancer Aware ness Month in October in numerous ways. The Hospital's Imaging Depart ment extended hours for mammograms. Staff raised more than $14,000 for the American Cancer Society through methods that included raffles and participating in the Making Stri des Against Breast Cancer Walk. Their team, Team Sunbums United for a Cure, came in as the eighth highest ranking fundraising team on Long Island. Nurses at St. John's conducted educational sessions on breast self-examination throughout the month of October. Balloons and lobby decorations were donated by Anthony Moorer.
