A Scary Circus Halloween Extravaganza!
A chill wind blows over the deserted fairgrounds, carny lights wink on and off and ghostly calliope music drifts away as The Rockaway Artists Alli - ance raises the big top on a Scary Cir - cus Halloween Extravaganza. Bill ed as the "Grossest Show on Earth" this carnival of lost souls will rise from the mist and take up residence in the RAA's T-7 gallery at Fort Tilden. From 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 29-31, the ghosts of acrobats, jugglers and lion tamers will walk amongst the living through this twisted maze of thrills and chills. And fortunately for ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages admission and parking are absolutely free. Donations will be accepted.
Months in the making, this year's fright fest follows the grand success of last Halloween's I Want My Mummy!, which brought nearly two thousand people deep into the beating heart of an Egyptian Pharaoh's tomb. Those who lived to tell the tale said they'd never experienced anything like the trap doors, flying boulders, falling ceilings or sheer fright they encountered within its walls.
Scary Circus: The Grossest Show on Earth presents a frightening funhouse full of ghouls and goblins at every turn in a sideways sideshow of things that go bump in the night. Visitors will enter an interactive shadowy showworld of narrowing passages, secret locked rooms and dark, dark deadends. At every turn the brave of heart may find mysterious creatures rising from the floor or feel the ringmaster's crumbling hand upon their shoulders or turn as the cold breath of the carnival crypt brushes against their neck. Sinister clowns and slithering freaks will roam the night as unseen, undead musicians conjure swirling, haunting circus music. Through the art of sight, light and sound the fearless and frightened alike will be plunged into a netherworld of Halloween fantasy and fun.
Scary Circus: The Grossest Show on Earth promises a three-ring extravaganza that is beyond this world. Sha - dowy figures are pounding in the stakes, raising the tent poles, spreading the sawdust and making ready for the roaring crowds. Out in the night there's a chill in the air and shrouded specters are busily at work, gathering to celebrate Halloween.
In that 'spirit' The Rockaway Artists Alliance invites to all to come out and have a frighteningly good scare.
