Oral Mae McCauley
Oral Mae McCauley, 58, a longtime Rockaway resident, died October 1.
McCauley was born on February 6, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York and worked as a presser.
McCauley is survived by three daughters, Tanya McCauley-Keyes of New Rochelle, New York, Veronica Keyes, of Brooklyn, New York, Erica McCauley of Mamaroneck, New York; five grandchildren, Nephetemia Keyes, Shatise Chappel, Kayline McFarlene, Cameron Broome and Immanuel McFarlene; birthmother, Vivian Grier; five sisters, Idiela Butcher (Carl) of North Carolina, Evangelist Annie Copeland (Philmore) of Laurelton, New York, Alfrida Zeigler (Leon) of Brooklyn, New York, Bridgette Arrington of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Carrie Barnette of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers, Michael Grier of Brooklyn, New York, Larry Grier of Brooklyn, New York; spiritual parents, Rev. Dr. Fetson and Joyce Leak; uncle, William Grier (Jeanette); aunt, Lucy Brown; two sisters in-law, Louise Mincy of Brooklyn, New York and Valarie Jeter of Brooklyn, New York; spiritual daughters, Carlotta Leak, Rachel Sayles; three god-children, Keisha Reid, Antoinette Silburn, Delhia Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A memorial service took place at Greater Anticoh Temple, Brooklyn, New York. Interment took place at Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
