Keeps Things Flowing

Dear Editor,

We have been residents of Belle Harbor for the past 34 years. Recently, we had a serious sewer back-up problem which was causing a foul odor in our home. The problem was being caused by a back-up in the city sewer system. We contacted 311 and they transferred us to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). They could not tell us when they would come to clean out the catch basin. As a last resort we contacted Lew Simon, our district leader, who in turn contacted the DEP and within a couple of hours they came to our street and cleaned out the catch basin. Thanks to Lew Simon for helping us out and getting things done. We sure do appreciate him.
