Laborer Accused Of Stealing Thousands

By Nicholas Briano

A Far Rockaway man working as a laborer for a Nassau County construction company is accused of stealing up to $20,000 worth of goods, according to police.

Farid Hernandez Acosta, 19, of 275 Beach 17 Street, allegedly took company credit cards, personal items and electronic equipment, all of which belonged to the company, police said. Acosta was arrested on Sunday night, just 20 minutes after the alleged thefts. Police say they recovered all of the stolen property and returned it to the company's boss.

Acosta was employed by Inwood-based John Cusumano Construction at 69 Solomon Avenue.
