Age Nothing But A Number In The Martial Arts
Curtis Lampkins Jr. (50 years old), Luis Rojas Sr. (33 years old) and Ashael Malloy (58 years old) are students of Amethyst School of Martial Arts in Far Rockaway who have successfully completed an intense twoday Black Belt examination. The graduates proved that Martial Arts are great for people of all ages.
The Black Belt examination took place on September 4 and 5, being ASMA's ninth such ceremony since the school's inception. "There are still too many people out there who believe that Martial Arts is just for kids," says ASMA Chief Instructor Soke Runako Mashama, who himself is 52-years-ofage.
"We hope to see more adult students like these three gentlemen, take advantage of all the empowering benefits of the Martial Arts."
Malloy and Lumpkin were both awarded the title of Shodan Ho. Rojas is now a 1st Degree Black Belt and an ASMA Instructor.
