Monahan Tournament Congratulates All For Successful Day

On Saturday, September 26, the 10th Annual John J. Monahan Softball Tournament was held in Broad Channel with all proceeds going to the BCAC.

The tournament was a great success, with nine teams showing up ready to play ball. There were lots of exciting and nail biting games.

Congratulations to the Cardinals/Muggers Team for their great championship run and going undefeated on the day! Timmy Bradford was awarded the MVP for his outstanding play throughout the day.

The United Nations Team also had a nice run coming in second place, and Derek was honored with the Golden Glove. Thanks to all the teams for coming out to play including Mangan's Marauders, The Dollar Beers, Colt 45's, BCVFD, Orioles, Q14, and the Mudsharks. The tournament would also like to thank the umpires consisting of Kenny Grey, Fred Gray, and Aaron Miller. They worked hard all day! Great job guys!

Thanks to all of the local businesses who sponsored signs: Channel Oil, BZ Shipping, JRS Trucking, Tommy's Pizza, Call-A-Head Corp, Wharton's Apothecary, Century 21 On the Bay - Margaret Wagner, The Wave, The Ruffle Bar, Grassy Point, The Irish Circle Tavern, Sports Depot, It's All Good Tees, Pat Hanning Insurance and ADP Signs and Awnings.

The organizers also sold family sponsorships as well and thanks to all of the families that sponsored the tournament.

A special thanks to Rob Pisani from the All American Deli's and the Bayview Restaurant for sponsoring the jackets for the champions of the tournament.

All of the supporters helped in making for a successful tournament that raised $4020 for the club that day. It was a great day for softball! We hope that all who were there had a nice day. We look forward to see you all again next year!
