Linda Heffernan, 48, a longtime Rockaway resident, died September 26.

Heffernan was born February 24, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised in Rockaway Beach and eventually settled in Hunter, New York.

Heffernan is preceded in death by her parents, John and Joan Atkins.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Robert P. Heffernan Jr.; her children, Danielle and Robert III; siblings, Phyillis, Daniel, Frances, Mary, Charlotte, Joann, April, and Samantha; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 3, at 2:00p.m., at the Onteora Clubhouse, Tannersville, New York.
