Foreigner Coming To Westbury
Live Nation presents rock sensation Foreigner at the Capital One Bank Theatre on Thursday, October 1 at 8 p.m. Foreigner will be performing their Top 10 hits including "Hot Blooded," "Urgent," "Feels like the First Time," and "I Want To Know What Love Is."
Foreigner was formed in 1976 in New York City by Mick Jones, former King Crimson member Ian McDonald and vocalist Lou Gramm. Universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world, Foreigner has racked up scores of smash hits, multi-platinum albums and sold out concert tours.
The group is known for their blend of hard rock, pop, and arena rock n roll. Foreigner has been one of the few rock bands to carry their success from the 1970's into the 1980's with multiple hit singles including "Feels Like the First Time," "Cold as Ice," and "Long Long Way From Home." Its self titled debut album sold over four million copies in the US.
Foreigner released their third album titled Head Games which during this time bassist, Ed Gagliardi, was replaced by Englishman Rick Wills. At the end of the tour the band would lose keyboardist Al Greenwood and cofounder Ian McDonald.
Foreigner is an ensemble of talented musicians, each adding their individual credentials to the mix to make the band stronger and more powerful than ever. Current group members include Mick Jones, Kelly Hansen, Tom Gimbel, Jeff Pilson and Michael Bluestein. Foreigner's new album, Can't Slow Down, is scheduled to be released on September 29, 2009.
