St. John's Episcopal Hospital Awarded Accreditation

By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety, SJEH has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. John Gupta, CEO, spoke of his pride in a staff whose members have met hundreds of stringent national standards in order to receive The Joint Commission accreditation. "Our accreditation is a validation of the excellent quality of care we provide and the focus we place on the patient," said Gupta. At the exit conference at the conclusion of the onsite survey, a Joint Commission surveyor noted that the community was "very lucky" to have St. John's caring for it.

"Above all, the national standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic and organizationwide improvement in an organization's performance and the outcomes of care," said Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, executive director, Hospital Programs, Accreditation and Certification Services, The Joint Commission. "The community should be proud that St. John's Episcopal Hospital is focusing on the most challenging goal - to continuously raise quality and safety to higher levels."
