Remembering The Victims Of 9/11

Two solemn ceremonies were held at Tribute Park on the eighth anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, in which more than 70 locals lost their lives. The first was held at 9:15 a.m. at the Beach 116 Street park, with the names of each victim read aloud and red roses placed on the park's central compass. Then, at 6:30 p.m., local firefighters lowered the American Flag in another ceremony to cap the day. For more photos, see page 16. Photo by Howard Schwach
