A 21-year-old black male was a victim of gun violence last Wednesday when he was shot outside a pizza place in Far Rockaway.

According to police reports, at approximately 2:28 p.m. on August 9, the victim was either coming out of, or walking by, Gino's Pizza at 10-38 Beach 20 Street when another male approached him and shot him once in the leg in front of the restaurant. The assailant then ran off.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital. A police source said that no ballistic evidence was found at the scene and, at the moment, there is no description of the shooter. There is also no indication if the incident was drug or gang related.

An investigation by 101 Precinct detectives is ongoing.
