It's 'Oktoberfest' Time Once Again!
The 100 Precinct Community Council's 18th annual 'Oktoberfest' will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at Beach 90 Street. The 'Oktoberfest' breakfast is an annual even that honors the community service and commitment of one or more longtime Rockaway residents and benefits the 100 Precinct Community Council, which supports the community's activities and initiatives.
Last year's event was a huge success with 200 guests, nearly double the number of guests the year before. Among those honored were Kenny Good, proprietor of The Lobster House, Andy and Maureen McGee, and Benjamin and Mary Lenihan.
This year the council will be honoring John Lepore, president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Rockaways.
Lepore has been extremely active in many of Rockaway's organizations. Guests will enjoy food and raffles as well as an appearance by Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer.
All gifts are donated by local Rockaway merchants.
Reservations for the event are required and tickets are $25 per person. Raffles and a 50/50 will take place.
Anyone interested in attending should contact Danny or Linda for tickets: 718-474-6145.
