Rock Solid Rocks

Dear Editor,

Many thanks to Vivian Carter for spotlighting the Rockaway Theatre Company in her new column, "Rock Solid." We are always pleased to be recognized and appreciated for our work in bringing culture and entertainment to the Rockaway community. We have been up at the Post Theatre in Fort Tilden for twelve seasons now, providing Broadway-quality theater to the members of our community at Rockaway prices.

Although we have many loyal followers, like Vivian Carter, who attend our performances on a regular basis, there are still a huge number of local residents who, being totally unaware of our existence, have never seen a single production.

We advertise regularly in this newspaper. We have a book up at the theater which everyone who is interested in being on our mailing list is welcome to sign. We appear regularly at community events and have tried various other means of making the public aware of us.

We very much appreciate the kind words in last week's "Rock Solid" column and are hopeful that it may serve to introduce us to our neighbors who still don't know of the cultural service we work so hard to provide. For less than $20 per person you can experience live theater right here in your own backyard. What are you waiting for?

Our annual musical revue, The Rockaway Cafe will open on October 2, and run for three weekends. It is the perfect time to meet the members of the Rockaway Theatre Company and experience some great music.

SUSAN JASPER
