Allen Westley Wilson, 95, a longtime resident of Inwood, New York, died July 29.

Wilson was born on September 24, 1913 in Mocksville, North Carolina. He was a self-employed landscaper and business owner who often employed residents of the community as well as family members.

Wilson is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Ijames Wilson; father, Daniel Wilson; wife, Joanna (Frost); son, John Lester Wilson; grandson, John Derrick Wilson; brothers, Glenn and Jessie Lee Wilson; sisters Helen Turner and Hazel Wilson; sons-in-law, Charles Carson and Booker T. Sims.

He is survived by daughters, Ethel Carson, Frances Preston, Stephanie Sims, and Jacqueline Samuel; sons, Allen T. Wilson Junior, Ronald Wilson, and Stanley Wilson; brothers, Raymond Wilson of Middletown, New York, and Wilmer Wilson of Detroit, Michigan; sons-in-law, Robert Preston and Raymond Samuel; daughtersin law, Barbara Wilson and Laura Wilson; 13 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; faithful caregiver, Madgeline White; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service was held at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Westbury, New York. Funeral arrangements and interment remained private.
