Offering Clarification

Dear Editor,

Regarding the letter by Lee Cordova last week, I offer some clarification, not to defend Councilman Sanders but to "attack" and dispel continued misrepresentations, myths and inaccuracies as implied by Cordova.

First, as Jews are a religious minority, Betsy Gotbaum is a minority. As women are considered gender minorities, Betsy Gotbaum is a minority.

Furthermore, from a global perspective, as a person of color, Councilman Sanders is a part of the majority.

Within the borders of North America, it might very well be the case that people of color are actually the majority which would mean that Councilman Sanders is a part of the nation's ethnic majority. If not now, then within the next five years for sure.

Actually, interestingly enough, Mr. Corvova's usage of the term "minority" is playing the race card.
