Madagascar 2 A Hit On Movie Night In Park

The baseball diamond turned into an outdoor movie theater on Sunday, as area residents enjoy 'Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.' The adventures of Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo, Melman the giraffe and their penguin friends came to Far Rockaway last Sunday as Councilman James Sanders Jr. and the Department of Parks and Recreation, for the third year running, sponsored Movie in the Park Night at O'Donohue Park on Beach 17 Street. Children and adults enjoyed "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" - a story of family and friendship, in which the whole crew try to find their way back to the Central Park Zoo from Madagascar; only to have their plane crash land in Africa.

Face painting, free popcorn and a band rounded out activities on a cool late August evening.
