Peninsula Hospital Center Graduates 29 Residents
Peninsula Hospital Center recently graduated 29 residents from its five residency programs, Family Practice, Dental, Podiatry, Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery. Among the graduates, Dipak Patel, D.O. one of the Chief Family Practice Residents, was awarded the National Outstanding Resident of the Year Award, distinguishing him from all other residents in the United States. Additionally, Andrew Farber, D.O. Chief Orthopaedic Resident, was recently honored for his service as an AOA Trustee by the American Osteopathic Association President and AOA Board of Trustees.
Three of the residents will remain in the Rockaway area. Abraham Buckley, D.O. and Iris Savernik, D.O., are slated to remain at Peninsula Hospital Center and Michael Salamatbad, D.O. has joined Peter Galvin, M.D. in his private practice.
"We're reaching out all over the country and bringing talented young professionals to the Rockaway community. The fact that they remain here after their graduation tells us that we're still on the right path," said Peter A. Guiney, D.O., Director of Medical Education.
