Bicycle Robbery In Rockaway Beach

A Rockaway Beach man was arrested and charged with robbery after he knocked a woman off a bike and robbed her last week, around the corner from the 100 Precinct station house, according to police.

Martin D. Williams, 17, of 307 Beach 88 Street, pushed the victim off her bike at around 3 a.m. on Saturday, August 8 at the intersection of Beach 94 Street and Rockaway Freeway. The victim, who struck her head on the pavement, allegedly witnessed Williams ride off with her bike and purse.

Williams was arrested on Wednesday, August 12 and charged with second degree robbery and released on $5,000 bail. He is due back in court on August 26.
