Parking On Shorefront Parkway

Dear Editor,

As a longtime resident of Rockaway, and a resident who pays a monthly parking fee, I can't understand why our local enforcement group allows parking on Shorefront Parkway. Now, I understand it's allowed for lifeguards,

Letters but I'm talking about cars belong to folks who are Down For The Day, aka DFDs. One time when I watched, a patrol car gave out three tickets, then was apparently called away, leaving over 50 cars illegally parked. The city is in need of money, this is the perfect opportunity.

This makes me a little crazy, especially since I left my car on the street one night and got a ticket ten minutes after my inspection sticker expired. Illegal parking like this would never be permitted in Belle Harbor—what's wrong with this picture?!
