J&E Industries Claims Rockaway Little League Softball Championship
J&E Industries finished an impressive season by winning the 2009 Rockaway Little League Softball Major Division Championship.
The sun was finally out and the rain took a break as the girls took to the field for their first playoff game against Brown's in the semi-finals.
J&E played a great defensive game throughout the contest, which aided starting pitcher Tara Muoio. As the fourth inning started, the bats began to wake up for J&E. The team was able to break the game open and would eventually come out on top.
The girls have played together for the last three years and knew they were only one win from becoming title winners as they took on Flynn and Flynn in the championship game.
It was a day for a Megan duel on the mound. J&E's pitcher Megan La- Cognata was on fire on the mound, along with her counterpart, Megan King, pitching for Flynn and Flynn.
The bats for J&E would begin to heat up like a summer day. Along with their strong hitting, J&E also played like Gold Glove winners defensively. With hard work and determination, J&E deservedly became this year's champions.
J&E championship roster consists of: Jenna Hoffman, Marissa Scotto, Tara Muoio, Briana Hart, Megan LaCognata, Lisa Pulkoski, Kristen Henschel, Caroline Strele, Patricia Buelle, Lauren Perrone, Cassie Moriarty, and Victoria Moriarty. The team would also like to thank coaches Cathy, Laura, Tom, Paul, and Barbara for their three years of dedication to the girls. They did a great job!
