Herman J. Traegler

Dispatcher

Herman J. Traegler, a 60-year Rockaway resident, died August 7.

Traegler was born in Germany and served in the United States Army during World War II and later worked as a dispatcher. He is retired from Brooklyn Union Gas, a member of St. Francis de Sales Church and member of the American Legion Post 1404 in Broad Channel. He also called bingo at St. Francis de Sales, St. Camillus and St. Virgilius churches.

Traegler is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Cox Traegler and daughter-in-law, Diane Traegler.

She is survived by sons, Thomas W. Traegler (Dolores); Timothy J. Traegler; grandchildren, Thomas Traegler (Vicky), Joseph Traegler, Tara Traegler, Dawn Traegler, Theresa Farran (James), Timothy Traegler and Daniel Traegler; great-grandchildren, Kailey and Christopher.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. A memorial service will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
