A Call For New Leadership In Neponsit Assocation

Dear Editor,

As a Neponsit resident for the past 25 years, I have to say that Mr. Peter Sammon is nothing but an unwanted, outdated, rude and obnoxious man. He continually has an agenda, which is to harass Neponsit residents who are trying to build or re-build their homes; his favorite pastime is having phone conversations with the NYC Buildings Department, most based on unreliable and ridiculous allegations. It seems to be that Mr. Sammon has too much time on his hands. I personally know of six different people who were or are presently building or putting extensions on homes in Neponsit, who have had some kind of interference from Peter Sammon.

It is unfortunate that this man is in control of the Association. I too was a member of the Association (my family goes back two generations in Neponsit) until Mr. Sammon stepped up as president. He has done little for the community — his only claim to fame is the Neponsit malls. Mr. Sammon, there is more to Neponsit than the Neponsit malls. I, as well as my neighbors, think it is time for you to step down and bring some new people in and for the Association to stop it being run as a dictatorship. When this happens, I will be more than happy to give my dues of $75.00 yearly. I am requesting to see an open audit on funds collected from Neponsit residents over the last couple of years — I'm sure it would be very interesting.
