Weiner Votes No On H.R. 3200
Congressman Anthony Weiner voted no on a Health Care amendment to ensure that "illegal" immigrants are not allowed to get U.S. taxpayer funded Medicaid benefits. The House Energy and Commerce Committee lawmakers worked through stacks of Republican and Democratic amendments, July 30, to be added to the Health Care Bill, including H.R. 3200, "America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009." Weiner voted no to an amendment that would have helped save U.S. Medicaid money and then voted to defeat a House amendment to strengthen ID requirements for "illegal" immigrants before receiving any Medicaid assistance. This amendment to help save U.S. Medicaid money was sponsored by Energy and Commerce Committee member Representative Nathan Deal (R-GA) and it was designed to prevent "illegal" immigrants from getting Medicaid benefits without clear proof that only qualified alien status are open to our Medicaid program through the immigration ID verification system and controls by law.
Please, ask Weiner for an explanation as to why he would vote no to a straightforward amendment that would have helped to ensure that "illegal" immigrants are not going to be allowed to get U.S. taxpayer-funded Medicaid benefits. This Medicaid money should only go to qualified "impoverished" American citizens.
