Liz, the festival was great! Please place the following in your column. A few words from BCVFD: "The second annual Broad Channel Irish Festival went off without a hitch last Saturday. We had a large turnout with many outof towners in attendance. The entertainment was nonstop, with seven acts performing back-to-back including our headliners, Jameson's Revenge and Finn's Fury. Our local bagpipers preformed throughout the day to the enjoyment of many. The kids were kept occupied with the Home Run Derby and Giant Obstacle Course, and the adults were able to enjoy the day by visiting the many crafts vendors or just relaxing under our large seated dining area tents.

The day was filled with good food, ice cold beverages, great entertainment, and good friends enjoying the afternoon and evening. Everyone who attended says they can't wait for next year's festival." BCVFD is very grateful to all of the organizers of the festival.

Schoolchildren probably aren't wild over hearing it, but school starts in a few more weeks. Get ready to find the Labels and Boxtops for Education you've been saving all summer. Every label and boxtop helps. Even if you have only one. Schools will redeem them for FREE merchandise such as computers, software, physical education equipment, musical instruments, library books or even a minivan. What a great and easy way to help the children and the schools they attend! Please send material to be published in the column by Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. of the week before it is to appear.

Please provide a contact person for the information when a handwritten note is left at my door or in the mailbox. If a piece of information is missing from the note, I will have no way to get it. Thank you. Email can be sent to: Lizbcbits@aol.com
