Mary C. McDonald
Mary C. McDonald, a Rockaway resident for more than 20 years, died on August 4.
McDonald, 73, was born in Brooklyn and worked as an administrative assistant for the New York City Housing Authority.
She was an active member of Alcohol Anonymous, where she served as a sponsor to many new members over her 34 years of sobriety.
In addition, she was a foster mother to seven children over the years.
She was preceded in death by her Father, John McDonald; her mother, Sarah Connor; her brother, Hugh T. McDonald and her great-niece, Elizabeth Margaret Seelen.
She is survived by her brothers, John and James; by her sister-in-law, Margaret McDonald (Hugh T. Mc- Donald), cousin Teresa Meehan Clifford and her husband Michael, nephews John McDonald, Robert Mc- Donald and his wife Jenny, Jim Mc- Donald and his wife Judy, Kevin McDonald, Thomas McDonald, Daniel McDonald and his wife Amy, nieces Cathy McDonald Sweeney and her husband Jim, Eileen McDonald Piening and her husband John, Barbara McDonald Seelen and her husband Mark, Joanne McDonald Wintroath and her husband Greg, Mary
Ann McDonald Mottola and her husband Frank, Frances McDonald Delgado and her husband George, and many great nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her dearest best friend for over 30 years, John McCormack.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home.
