Board Of Directors Holds Secret Meetings

Dear Editor,

This is in reference to Dayton Beach Park Co-Op Board of Directors. It has come to my and some of the other shareholders' attention that the president and certain staff members of the Board have held secret meetings without involving the shareholders. This has been going on for some time now. It is not fair, not to mention illegal, to exclude tenants from meetings. At every Board of Directors meeting, it was always open for us to come in; to not say anything and keep it from us is unheard of.

On Thursday, July 23, there was another closed meeting, but we got wind of it from someone on the Board and came down. The meeting was supposed to start at 7 p.m., until the president decided to start it at 7:30 p.m. She just sat there, and the manager of Wentworth did not say anything. We found out that the president was going over to a different location, but when we arrived at the new location, no one was there. We found out she had gone around the back entrance; when we walked toward the back, the president blocked everyone coming in. A staff member was almost hurt, and the police and security were called. There was a lot of shouting and yelling, it was horrendous.

We at Dayton cannot allow this person to run our Co-Op. Our tenants should be alert and aware of what's going on here. People need to get involved and make this place the way it used to be.

MAXINE DANIEL
