Eugene Parker Jr.
Eugene Parker Jr., 59, a longtime Rockaway resident, died July 17.
Parker was born on December 29, 1949 in Jamaica, New York and worked as a butcher. Eugene graduated from the Food and Trades H.S. in Manhattan, New York. He fulfilled his lifetime ambition of becoming a butcher by working at Dan's Supreme/Key Food for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Parker; daughters, Ann McNeil, Anita Chisolm and baby girl, Gina Parker; son, Tony Parker; son-in-law, Wayne Chisolm; five grandsons, six granddaughters, great-granddaughter, Ailani Hawkins; goddaughter, Chevy Garrett; adopted daughters, Nichelle Parker and Khadijah Jeanty; father, Francis Hawkins; brothers, Norman C. Parker and David Hawkins; sisters, Debra Parker, Renee Cooke, Regina Hawkins and Angela Hawkins and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, great aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and endearing friends.
Funeral arrangements and memorial service were entrusted to Macedonia Baptist Church, Arverne. Interment was at Rosemont Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey.
